Walking: Superfood of Fitness

Walking may never become as trendy as CrossFit, as sexy as mud runs or as ego-boosting as Ironman races but for fitness experts who stress daily movement over workouts and an active lifestyle over weekends of warrior games, walking is a super star.

This isn’t anything new.  There’s inherent risk with running because we tend to do it poorly, causing problems with joints and such.  There’s similar risks with gym equipment, besides the cost.  Even if I’m on a recovery day, I try to get out for a walk.  It’s low impact, low stress and doesn’t require special gear.
