First Uterus Transplant in the United States Failed Due to Yeast Infection

The first successful uterus transplant in the United States failed after the patient developed a yeast infection. Lindsey McFarland, the 26-year-old patient who received the uterus at the Cleveland Clinic, had hoped to undergo IVF to become pregnant once she recovered from the transplant.

I’m sorry that she had to go through all of that surgery and trauma, just to have it all fail because of something so seemingly minor.  At least if something is learnt from the experience, the technology matures so she might have another chance.
