The pain from a really bad headache can stop in you in your tracks. But it doesn’t have to. Thankfully, there are a few foods you can add to your diet that have a soothing effect. So we asked our nutrition director, Jaclyn London, MS, RD, CDN, for her favorite headache-busting eats.
- Cantaloupe is an interesting suggestion. At 4 mcg per cup, cantaloupe contains 4% of the recommended Daily Value (DV) for vitamin K. Not terribly high.
- Cherries are low in vitamin K – 1.4 mcg per 10 raw cherries. But they are high in potassium – nice change from say bananas…
- I have a recipe for navy beans – there’s a link to nutritional info on it. Navy beans are typically cheaper than the listed alternatives. I have mine with salsa.
