Why Losing Weight as You Age is Brutally Hard (But What You Can Do About It)

Those in their 40s just rolled their eyes when Miley Cyrus proclaimed that people in that age group don’t have sex. But what they can’t deny is that losing weight in that decade gets much, much harder.

Blame it on evolution.

There’s a lot to be said for getting active, and staying that way.  The article touches on lifestyle changes as we get older, like kids.  It’s good to include the kids in activity, both for you and the kids to establish habits.

Your Children Won’t Be Able To Live In Space, Without A Major Upgrade

We all dream of journeying (or living) among the stars. But space is a spectacularly awful place for humans, and we’re not suited for life there at all. And yet, it doesn’t have to be that way. Here are all the ways we’ll need to re-engineer the human body, in order to make space our home.

It’s not nitrous oxide out of a balloon at a Phish show or a little weed in a brownie. “T,” (as it is known) is, by most accounts, as close to a direct anti-aging medication as science has yet produced. It can be manufactured cheaply in large quantities, and the risks seem manageable for most people. Users report increased energy, more muscle mass, decreased body fat, greater sex drive, and a general sense of well-being. In short, it’s one of the most transformative substances a human can take.

…The crux of the medical ethics issue is this: are people taking testosterone to cure a disease, or are they taking it to transcend the limitations normally imposed on an aging human body?

Estrogen is given to a patient as medicine, what is different for testosterone?  The article makes light of how trans men have changed access to testosterone.

The downside of taking testosterone?  It decreases fertility, enlarges the prostate, and causes other issues.  Though, I don’t think men in their 70s are worried about fertility…
